A long time tradition in Pescadero, the Chamarita Festival is a festival celebrated by the Portegese community commerorating Queen Isabela 13th century tradition of crowning a common personon the feast of the Pentecost. There is a parade on Sunday followed by free food and an auction at the IDES Hall.

A real treat after the parade is when one of the marching bands, The Stewart Tartan Scottish Band from San Francisco, drops into Duarte's Tavern for a few songs on the pipes and drums, usually finsihed by a tear-jerking performance of Amazing Grace. It is a must see experience
